Everything you didn't know you need to know about elements

Elements play a big part in Shaiya. They can dramatically alter the course of combat. I will quickly and simply break down the elements and their strengths and weaknesses for you.
There are four elements: Earth, Air, Fire, Water. Each element is strong against one element, and weak against another.

Earth	Water	Air
Air	Earth	Fire

If you look at the above table, you will see that if you were to attack a fire mob with a water based attack, you would do good damage, since water is strong against fire. If on the other hand, you attacked a fire mob with a wind attack, you won't do hardly any damage.
This should be of some help to those people playing pagans for the first time as all of their attacks almost are elemental. Also, keep this in mind for those of you who use the level 45 epic weapon, as it is elemental. Hope it helps some.

Adding to what Dreadd said, an elemental also does more damage against a non elemental. To put it in numerical form for those that like numbers :

Element vs Non Element = 1.25 damage
Stronger Element vs Weaker Element = 1.5 times Damage

In other words using a water weapon on a non elemental mob will add +25% damage. Using it on a fire mob will add +50% damage. The reverse holds true as well, so using a non-elemental weapon on an elemental mob reduces your damage by 25% and using the weaker element cuts your damage in half.

Like Dreadd hinted at, the lvl 45 epic is really good since it is an elemental. I'll go a step further and suggest that you make that the weapon of choice once you get it, cause mobs (and lights) that you encounter from that level onward are all elemental. Good luck.
